This weekend I was joined by my extended family mainly from Cheltenham; Aunty, Uncle and lots of lovely cousins, including the other KB [also based in Exeter]. We started off with a dog walk along the quay, however after persistent rain and howling winds we stopped for Sunday lunch and then moved quickly onto the gorgeous hotel The Magdalen Chapter for afternoon tea… How very cultural of us. So never one to miss an excuse for a post, I excessively photographed the stylish interior (up to the point they probably thought I had never been inside a hotel before), I loved the mix of old and new and the original features obtained from when the building was originally an Eye Hospital.
If you are in the Exeter area it is definitely worth a visit for afternoon tea or evening drinks.
The scones they serve definitely could be some of the best down south, so armed with take-away boxes us students stocked up on the leftovers!
